Reiki Sessions and Chakra Healing

Reiki (pronounced “Ray Key”) means Universal Life Energy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – “Rei” which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and “Ki” which is “life force energy.” Reiki is an Asian healing art form devised by a Japanese Priest, Dr. Mikao Usui, in the early part of the 20th century, and is based on the principle that the Reiki Therapist can channel energy to the patient by means of prayer and light healing touch. This healing touch, which is now being offered in some hospitals, activates the natural healing process of the patient’s body and restores physical and emotional wellbeing.

I am a Reiki Master, Teacher and Therapist, and I have given hundreds of treatments. I allow the Creative Forces to work through me to restore balance and reinforce the body’s natural ability to heal by placing my hands gently on or over a patient. Although Practitioners do not diagnose injury, illness or disease, the patient can absorb the powerful Reiki energy like a sponge in the whole body-mind-spirit restoring health and vitality. It’s an intuitive and nurturing process like when a parent’s hands quickly and naturally embrace a crying child. This act of giving love in a physical touch is a simplified way to explain Reiki. As the practitioner is giving Reiki, the hands feel like a heating pad. Once I left a pink handprint on a patient even though the patient was fully clothed and covered by a sheet.

Chakra Healing

The chakra is an energy wheel that cannot be seen by the naked eye. There are seven main chakras overlaying the physical body along the spinal column, from the crown of the head to the tailbone where the root chakra sits. Through modern physiology, Ayurvedic Doctors and Doctors of Oriental Medicine it is noted that the seven chakras correspond exactly to the seven main nerve ganglia that emanate from the spinal column to all of the bodily organs.

Your chakras can become blocked or imbalanced due to a variety of issues and that can lead to lack of focus, inability to manifest your desires, fear of self-expression, sleep apnea or even illness. Recognizing blocked chakras not only raises your consciousness beyond just the physical, but can also stabilize your physique, psyche and spiritual connection.

"I am"

First Chakra

The first chakra is located at the perineum (near the base of the spine), and is generally translated as your physical foundation, need for food, shelter and survival. The root chakra governs the skeleton, bones, muscles, rectum, colon, testes and arterial blood that flows through the heart, transporting oxygen and nutrients to bodily tissues. The personality and ego reside in the first chakra, and it connects you to Mother Earth.

"I Feel"

Second Chakra

The second chakra is located below the navel in the sacral-lumbar area. It is the seat of creativity, and the color is orange. When you sublimate your sexuality, you generate your passion into new creative endeavors.

Third Chakra

"I Will"

Third Chakra

Positioned above the navel, it has a luminous energy of brilliant yellow. I call this the Manifestor. It hosts the part of us in business, money, materialism, maternity, paternity, parenthood and intellect, and the part that responsibly goes to work each day. Personal and professional agreements are governed by the Third Center. It’s the part of you that remains professional even when you want to scream at someone. It’s the side of you that feels dutiful, accountable and obligated.

Fourth Chakra

"I Love"

Fourth Chakra

This emerald colored chakra resides at the center of the chest and includes the heart, cardiac plexus, thymus gland, lungs, lymphatic system and breasts. The heart can keep us connected to our loved ones. The Fourth Center provides a sense of devotion, connection, commitment and joy.

Fifth Chakra

"I Speak"

Fifth Chakra

The Throat Chakra is cobalt blue and governs our words or sounds. Music, prayers and quality affirmations are positive ways to keep this chakra balanced. Listening to ambient or uplifting music can generate a harmonic tone in your home or office.

Sixth Chakra

"I See"

Sixth Chakra

The Third Eye is probably the most known chakra. Our Third Eye points upward, and the color is indigo. It is vertical not horizontal like our other two eyes. Proper brain functioning and healthy hormones positively impact the Indigo Center. Vision from the Sixth Chakra comes from our Higher Self.

Seventh Chakra

"I Know"

Seventh Chakra

The seventh chakra hovers overhead and animates the body. The Soul is likened to a thousand-petal lotus and is so powerful that it couldn’t possibly be contained entirely in a cellular form like the human body. Being happy is one sign that you are connected to your Highest Consciousness and that your Seventh Center is balanced. The Crown Center is blocked when you are morose, pessimistic, scattered or cynical.
